The Kingston Catholic School Family Organization (KCSFO) endeavors to build strong ties between our school and the families it serves. Led by chairperson, assistant chairperson, treasurer, and secretary the Family Organization supports KCS through educational programming, special events, and fundraising efforts. Our parent volunteers are the heart of our school and help make KCS a wonderful place to grow and learn.

The 2016-2017 school year is shaping up to be a very exciting year, and the Kingston Catholic School Family Organization would like to extend a warm welcome to all new and returning families. We started our year with the Welcome Back Family Picnic on August 23rd and it was a great event meeting new families and catching up with old friends. The KCSFO also hosted a “Boo Hoo/Yahoo” Breakfast Friday September 9th for parents after dropping off their students. There was definitely more “Yahoo-ing” than “Boo Hoo-ing!” New parents were able to make new friends and returning parents were able to chat and catch up after a busy summer. Following the breakfast, several parents were able to join the students for the first School Mass of the year.
Our committees have been working diligently to ensure a fun-filled year focusing on family fun and making this a memorable year for families new and old. We have many fun activities planned for this year. This is a great way for new families to get to know the other families in our school community!
In addition to organizing events that are fun and bring our community together, the KCSFO is also a fundraising committee. To supplement tuition, and to prevent large increases in tuition rates, the KCSFO is given a yearly fundraising goal allotted by the Archdiocese of NY. This year, our fundraising goal is $45,000. With the help of our parents, students, faculty, and friends, we are proud to say we have been able to meet these goals over the last 3 years. Last year, we were able to exceed our goal and the additional funds raised were used to purchase 30 chrome books for the Blended Learning Pilot Program and to replace the flooring in Grades 5 and 6. We also have money earmarked for updating our Lisa Land Playground later this year.
Last year, we moved away from holding open KCSFO meetings in order to focus on adding more community building events. The KCSFO board meets monthly and we intend to update all families through the online weekly envelope. That being said, all members of the executive board are listed below, with contact information, and we encourage you to reach out with ideas, concerns, or questions.
